The swallows returned earlier in the Spring and their chicks hatched a few weeks ago. The chicks are now ready for flying and are often sat in the nest keeping a look out for food. Around four years ago my great-uncle nailed a plastic bowl to one of the rafters in the shed and each year the birds keep just adding more bedding (and poo!) on top; I think we are going ot have to empty it out soon!

The birds look like they are going to fall out of the nest in this picture, however we think there may have been four chicks to start with as we found two little chicks dead on the floor around two weeks ago.
